Cucumbers in Spiced Yoghurt Recipe

(Khira Pachchadi)


Ingredients :

2

1/4 cup

3 tablespoons

1 teaspoon

1 teaspoon

1/2 teaspoon

Medium cucumbers

Desiccated coconut

Hot water

Fresh green chilies, seeded and chopped

Salt

Yoghurt

Ghee or oil

Black mustard seeds

Black cumin seeds, optional

Method :
  • Peel and seed cucumbers and grate coarsely.

  • Sprinkle coconut with hot water and toss lightly with fingers until all the coconut is moistened.

  • Mix cucumbers, coconut, chilies and salt into the yoghurt.

  • Heat ghee in a small pan and fry seeds until the mustard seeds pop.

  • Remove from heat and stir into yoghurt mixture.

  • Serve cold.
