Mint Chutney Recipe

(Podina Chatni)


Ingredients :

1 cup

1 clove

1 teaspoon

2 teaspoons

1 teaspoon

1/3 cup

2 tablespoons

Firmly packed mint leaves

Spring onions

Fresh green chilies

Garlic, optional

Salt

Sugar

Garam masala

Lemon juice

Water

Method :
  • The easy way to make this fresh chutney is in an electric blender.

  • Cut the spring onions into short lengths.

  • Seed the chilies and stalks removed.

  • Put everything into the blender container.

  • Blend to a smooth paste.

  • If a blender is not available, finely chop the mint, onions and chilies.

  • Pound in mortar and pestle a little at a time, until ground to a paste.

  • Mix in remaining ingredients.

  • Pack into a small dish and smooth the surface.

  • Cover and chill until serving time.
