Chicken in Sweet Sour Soup Recipe (Garang Asem)

Ingredients :

3 tablespoons

1 stalk

4 slices

1 1/2 liters

Spices (ground)

Oil

Lemon grass, bruised

Turmeric

Chicken, cut into 6 pieces

Water

Cabbage leaves, cut into 5 X 5 cm pieces

Red chilies

Coriander, roasted

Cumin, roasted

Candlenuts, roasted

Dried shrimp paste

Shallots

Garlic

Tamarind

Salt and sugar

Method :
  • Heat oil and sauté the ground spices, lemon grass and turmeric until fragrant.
  • Boil the chicken with 1 1/2 liters water until tender.
  • Add sautéed spices.
  • Continue to cook over low heat for 15 minutes, then add cabbage.
  • Boil for 5 minutes.
  • Serve hot.
