Poached Vegetables with Oyster Sauce Recipe


Ingredients :

1 kg Chinese greens (flowering cabbage, Chinese spinach or lettuce)

3-4 tablespoons Peanut oil

3-4 tablespoons Oyster sauce

Method :

Clean the vegetables. If you are using Chinese greens or Chinese kale, remove and discard the flowers and tough woody stem. Put the vegetables into boiling water and cook for 3-5 minutes (if you're using lettuce, cook for only 1 minute). Remove and cut into 5cm pieces. Place the vegetables on a plate, add boiling peanut oil and oyster sauce and serve. Instead of oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon of light and 1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce is an equally tasty sauce.
