Bulgalbi Recipe
(Barbecued Short Ribs of Beef)
Ingredients : Serves 8
2 kg beef short ribs, cut into cubes of 5 cm size
3 teaspoons garlic, grated finely
5 tablespoons scallions, finely chopped
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated finely
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons sesame seeds, toasted and crushed
Method :
Cut the beef short ribs into small dice with a sharp kitchen knife so that the marinade could penetrate better. Using a large bowl, combine all the remaining ingredients. Add the short ribs and mix well with the mixed ingredients. Cover and chill for at least 4 hours or overnight.
To grill the meat, prepare a domed grill well ahead of the cooking time to achive a steady glow of fire for a successful grilling. Put the meat on the grill with the bone side downwards. Cook until the meat turned brown. Turn and cook the other side until the meat is well done. Keep turning the meat to ensure that all sides are grilled brown and crisp. Serve and eat with the fingers.
