Creamy Abalone Recipe

Ingredients :

1/2 can

4 tablespoons

1/2 cup

2 1/2 tablespoons

3/4 cup

1/4 cup

3/4 teaspoon

1/2 cup

1/2 cup

1/2 cup

1/4 cup

Abalone

Cooking oil

Onion, chopped

Flour

Stock

Liquid of canned abalone

Salt

Carrot, cut into pieces

Cauliflower, cut into pieces

Button mushrooms

Whole bok choy, cut into half

Evaporated milk

Pepper according to taste

Method :
  • Cut the abalone into thin slices.

  • Heat the wok and add 4 tablespoons of oil.

  • Stir-fry the onions until fragrant.

  • Add flour and stir lightly over low heat until the flour is slightly brown and forms a paste.

  • Add pepper, salt, stock and abalone liquid in a pan and bring to boil. Add carrot, cauliflower, mushrooms and bok choy. Cook for 5 minutes.

  • Add abalone and milk.

  • Add the flour paste to thicken.

  • Serve hot with white steamed rice.

  1. Thanks for the recipe!!! Love it. Fresh or frozen local abalone is cheaper but will never give the same taste, flavor and texture as canned abalone. I love the flavor and taste of canned abalone and one day I want to eat abalone like 'abalone kings' do: braised in sauce and served whole, like a steak, washed down with a good white wine. Cut with a knife and fork of course. Meantime, it's still cheaper to slice abalone thinly and share with the family. I love this dish. It's such a special treat.
