Shrimp Satay Recipe (Japit Udang)

Ingredients :

100 cc

Spices (ground)

8-10

1 teaspoon

3 cloves

Large shrimps / prawns, peeled leaving the tail

Thick coconut milk

Bamboo skewers and banana leaf stalks

Red chilies

Chopped lesser galangal

Candlenuts, roasted

Shallots

Garlic

Salt and sugar or brown sugar

Method :
  • Combine shrimps with ground spices and thick coconut milk and allow to stand for 15 minutes.
  • Clam 4-5 shrimps between a skewer which is split into two along the middle.
  • Tie one end with a banana leaf stalk.
  • Grill over hot charcoal and brush with remaining ground spices until golden brown.
  • Serve hot.
