Crab Curry Recipe (Kari Kepiting)

Ingredients :

1 stalk

Spices (ground)

1/4 teaspoon

Crabs (medium size)

Oil

Lemon grass, bruised

Salam leaf or bay leaf as substitute

Kaffir lime leaves

Coconut milk from 1 coconut

Salt

Red chilies

Chopped ginger

Chopped turmeric

Chopped galangal

Coriander, roasted

Candlenuts, roasted

Cumin, roasted

Shrimp paste (belacan)

Garlic

Shallots

Tamarind juice

Method :
  • Clean crabs and discard the shell and gills.
  • Cut in half.
  • Heat oil and sauté ground spices, lemon grass, salam leaf and kaffir lime leaves until fragrant.
  • Add coconut milk and salt and bring to the boil.
  • Toss in the crabs and simmer until cooked.
  • Serve hot.
